France Gall, właśc. Isabelle Geneviève Marie Anne Gall (ur. 9 października 1947 w Paryżu[1], zm. 7 stycznia 2018 w Neuilly-sur-Seine[2]) – francuska piosenkarka, zwyciężczyni konkursu Eurowizji 1965.

Życiorys

Isabelle Geneviève Marie Anne Gall urodziła się 9 października 1947 roku w 12. dzielnicy Paryża[3].

Pochodziła z rodziny związanej z muzyką i sztuką; jej ojcem był Robert Gall – tekściarz tworzący w latach 60. XX wieku dla takich artystów jak m.in.: Edith Piaf, Marie Laforêt czy Charles Aznavour[4]. Matką Isabelle była natomiast Cécile Berthier[5] – córka Paula Berthiera, kompozytora i współzałożyciela chóru męskiego Les Petits Chanteurs à la Croix de Bois oraz siostra Jacquesa Berthiera – kompozytora chrześcijańskiej muzyki liturgicznej i organisty[6]. Kuzynami Isabelle Gall byli: muzyk Vincent Berthier de Lioncourt, gitarzysta Denys Lable oraz rzeźbiarz François Brochet[7][8].

W 1965 reprezentowała Luksemburg podczas Konkursu Piosenki Eurowizji w Neapolu. Wykonała wówczas piosenkę Serge’a Gainsbourga Poupée de cire, poupée de son, która zwyciężyła w konkursie. W latach 1966–1972 regularnie koncertowała w Niemczech. W 1987 nagrała dedykowaną Elli Fitzgerald piosenkę Ella, elle l'a, która stała się przebojem dyskotek i doczekała wielu coverów (m.in. Francis Cabrel, Kate Ryan, Alizée, Jenifer Bartoli, Natalia Szroeder).

Zmarła w wyniku komplikacji po zakażeniu spowodowanym chorobą nowotworową[9].
