Historia
- w czasach prehistorycznych teren miasta zamieszkiwany był przez Celtów i Ligurów
- w czasach starożytnego Rzymu znajdowało się tu Alba Pompeia
- po upadku cesarstwa zachodniorzymskiego wielokrotnie najeżdżane przez Burgundczyków, Longobardów i Franków
