Waga lekkośrednia mężczyzn to jedna z jedenastu męskich konkurencji bokserskich rozgrywanych podczas letnich igrzysk olimpijskich w 1972 w Monachium. Startowali bokserzy o wadze nie przekraczającej 71 kilogramów. Pojedynki w tej kategorii wagowej toczone były w dniach od 28 sierpnia do 10 września w hali Boxhalle. Zwyciężył reprezentant Republiki Federalnej Niemiec Dieter Kottysch. Wystąpiło 34 bokserów z 34 państw.
