Flaga Syrii (arab. علم سوريا) – jeden z symboli narodowych Syrii.
Wygląd i symbolika
Flaga Syryjskiej Republiki Arabskiej jest prostokątem, podzielonym na trzy poziome pasy: czerwony, biały i czarny. Kolor czerwony symbolizuje przelaną w walce krew o wolność Arabów, biały oznacza świetlaną przyszłość, a czarny mroczną przeszłość. Dwie gwiazdy reprezentowały początkowo Egipt i Syrię, obecnie są symbolem jedności. Ich barwa symbolizuje islam.
Proporcja flagi wynosi 2:3.
Historia
Flaga ta jest taka sama jak flaga Zjednoczonej Republiki Arabskiej (Syria i Egipt), używana w latach 1958–1961. Jest ona wzorowana na Fladze Wyzwolenia Arabów, używanej od 1952 przez ruch Wolnych Oficerów, którzy obalili w Egipcie monarchię. Flaga została przyjęta 30 marca 1980.
Flaga Syrii z lat 1932–1958 i 1961–1963 używana jest przez opozycję, walczącą przeciwko rządom Baszszara al-Asada w wojnie domowej w Syrii.

Historical flag of Syria under French mandate. According to Flags of the World, the red stripe of the French flag is Pantone 186, and the blue is Pantone 282. According to [1] or [2], that is RGB (206, 17, 38) for the red, and RGB (0, 38, 84) for the blue. Green is RGB (85, 255, 51)

The Arab text in the scroll held by the “Golden Hawk of Qureish” reads Arabic اتحاد الجمهوريات العربية, ittiħād al-jumhūriyyāt al-`arabiyya, i.e. the Federation (literally “Union”) of Arab Republics — in a quasi-Kufic script (in its original form, with a very ornamental letter dal د).
