Son origine remonte au 11e siècle. Dans les années 1840-1850, afin de faire face à l'augmentation de la population et du nombre de fidèles, l'église est agrandie par l'adjonction de deux chapelles et de deux nouvelles fenêtres, tandis que la nef est allongée vers l'ouest.
