Według danych z 2010 r. hrabstwo miało 60 921 mieszkańców[2]. Hrabstwo powstało 1 marca 1808 roku i nosi imię Henry’ego Knoxa – pierwszego sekretarza wojny Stanów Zjednoczonych.
