Jerzy Bańczerowski

Jerzy Bańczerowski[1] (ur. 28 października 1938 w Ożarowie) – prof. zw. dr hab. nauk filologicznych, członek komitetu nauk orientalistycznych PAN, dyrektor Instytutu Językoznawstwa UAM (1977–1991, 1994–2008), kierownik Zakładu Językoznawstwa Ogólnego i Porównawczego UAM (1969–). Głównymi przedmiotami prowadzonych przez niego badań są: językoznawstwo ogólne i porównawcze, aksjomatyzacja w lingwistyce językoznawstwo ugrofińskie, języki Azji. Redaktor czasopisma Lingua Posnaniensis (1980–). Z jego inicjatywy na Uniwersytecie Adama Mickiewicza w Poznaniu powołano nowe specjalności (na kierunku filologia) studiów, w tym filologię fińską oraz etnolingwistykę[2].

Kariera zawodowa

W 1961 ukończył studia na Uniwersytecie im. Adama Mickiewicza w Poznaniu. W 1964 roku obronił doktorat pracą A gyengülés-erősödés folyamata a finn nyelvben (Proces usilnienia-lenicji w języku fińskim). W 1968 otrzymał habilitację za rozprawę Konsonantenalternation im Ostlappischen unter dem Aspekt der Verstärkung – Lenierung. W 1981 za osiągnięcia w dziedzinie badań naukowych otrzymał indywidualną Nagrodę Ministra Nauki, Szkolnictwa Wyższego i Techniki (stopień drugi). Od 1984 roku jest profesorem zwyczajnym. W 1989 roku został uhonorowany Krzyżem Oficerskim Orderu Odrodzenia Polski, natomiast 26 listopada 2004 roku Krzyżem Komandorskim[3]. W 1986 otrzymał Medal Komisji Edukacji Narodowej, a w 2000 wyróżnienie Friend of Thailand.
