Rzut oszczepem mężczyzn był jedną z konkurencji rozgrywanych podczas XI mistrzostw Europy w Rzymie. Kwalifikacje rozegrano 7 września, a finał 8 września 1974 roku. Zwycięzcą tej konkurencji został reprezentant Finlandii Hannu Siitonen. W rywalizacji wzięło udział dwudziestu zawodników z jedenastu reprezentacji.
