Rywalizacja w wadze do 56 kg mężczyzn w podnoszeniu ciężarów na Letnich Igrzyskach Olimpijskich 1960 odbyła się 7 września 1960 roku w hali Palazzetto dello Sport. W rywalizacji wystartowało 22 zawodników z 18 krajów. Tytuł sprzed czterech lat obronił Charles Vinci z USA. Srebrny medal wywalczył Yoshinobu Miyake z Japonii, a trzecie miejsce zajął Irańczyk Esma’il Elm Chah.
