The Dalles – miasto (city), ośrodek administracyjny hrabstwa Wasco, w północnej części stanu Oregon, w Stanach Zjednoczonych, położone na południowym brzegu rzeki Kolumbia, naprzeciw Dallesport w stanie Waszyngton[2]. W 2010 roku miasto liczyło 13 620 mieszkańców[1].
Obszar ten zamieszkany był od co najmniej 8000 r. p.n.e. (jeden z najdłużej zamieszkanych w Ameryce Północnej). W 1805 roku dotarła tu ekspedycja Lewisa i Clarka. Francuscy handlarze futer nadali temu miejscu nazwę les dalles („kamienne płyty”) od bazaltowych skał wyściełających dno rzeki, skąd wywodzi się nazwa późniejszego miasta[2].
W 1838 roku założona została tu placówka handlowa i misja metodystyczna. W latach 40. i 50. XX wieku zbudowane zostały forty Fort Lee i Fort Dalles. Miasto, stanowiące przystanek końcowy na szlaku oregońskim, oficjalnie założone zostało w 1857 roku. Rozwojowi miejscowości sprzyjała gorączka złota lat 60. XIX wieku[2].
W 1960 roku na wschód od miasta, na rzece Kolumbia zbudowana została zapora The Dalles Dam[2].

The flag of Navassa Island is simply the United States flag. It does not have a "local" flag or "unofficial" flag; it is an uninhabited island. The version with a profile view was based on Flags of the World and as a fictional design has no status warranting a place on any Wiki. It was made up by a random person with no connection to the island, it has never flown on the island, and it has never received any sort of recognition or validation by any authority. The person quoted on that page has no authority to bestow a flag, "unofficial" or otherwise, on the island.

Derived from the crosses adorning many European flags, the flag of the City of The Dalles features a white cross symbolizing the four cardinal directions from which people have come to this area for millennia, and a gold rooster, national symbol of France (from whose language the City has its name) and a prominent feature atop Old St. Peter's Landmark, a 19th century Dalles landmark.
Flag of Oregon (obverse): The flag was adopted by the state on February 26, 1925.[1] The state seal was decided in 1903.[2][3]
