Uniwersytet Walijski (ang. University of Wales, wal. Prifysgol Cymru) – brytyjski uniwersytet w Cardiff w Walii.
Historia
Uniwersytet Walijski został założony w 1983 roku jako rządowy uniwersytet złożony z trzech kolegiów: University College Wales (obecnie Uniwersytet w Aberystwyth), North Wales University College (obecnie Uniwersytet w Bangorze) oraz University College South Wales and Monmouthshire (obecnie Cardiff University)[1].
W 2011 organy Swansea Metropolitan University i University of Wales, Trinity Saint David zobowiązały się do połączenia z Uniwersytetem Walijskim pod University of Wales: Trinity Saint David z 1828[1].

We wrześniu 2007 roku trzy uniwersytety zgłosiły wniosek o możliwość nadawania przez siebie stopni naukowych, zamiast stopni Uniwersytetu Walijskiego. Obecnie Uniwersytet w Aberystwyth, Uniwersytet w Bangorze oraz Uniwersytet w Swansea przyznają niezależnie stopnie naukowe[4].

The Old College Building, Aberystwyth, Wales

Building in Swansea University This is a building in the administrative quarter of the university - the old Singleton Abbey. This page http://www.swanseaheritage.net/article/gat.asp?ARTICLE_ID=66&PRIMARY_THEME_ID=6 suggests that it contains an older octagonal building called Marino, three sides of which are still visible on the exterior. If this is a photo of Marino then the roof has been modified with extra windows and the corners of the octagon have had columns added. The different window heights and positions in the sections either side of the centre portion would seem to go along with the idea of an original building being extended.

The Armorial Bearings of the University are described as follows:
Arms: Argent on a Fesse Murrey three Medieval Lamps Or all within a Bordure of the second charged with eight Mullets of the third.
Crest: On a Wreath of the Colours A Dragon statant Gules resting the dexter claw on an Open Book proper inscribed with the words Goreu Awen Gwirionedd.
Explanation: The lamps in the design signify the three Constituent Colleges in being when the University was established in 1893. The eight mullets or stars represent the elements which made up the original University Court. The legend below the shield, Scientia Ingenium Artes, may be understood as summarizing at once the qualities of the ideal student and three of the chief areas of university study (Arts, Science and Engineering). The words inscribed on the book are those of the University motto, Goreu Awen Gwirionedd - The Best Inspiration is Truth.
