The area of water seen 'vertically' in the picture is one flooded water front.

If more than thisone would have been flooded, Vienna's 26th annual Donauinselfest would have been cancelled for security reasons, as a certain quantity of those tracks is required for emergency cars (ambulances, fire brigade, police).

As the hight water peak was passed the night before, the event could happen. Areas of possible danger to visitors were fenced (see File:Donauinselfest 20090625 fencing for visitor's security.jpg.
