Opis:

This photo, probably taken at Fiume around 1895, shows three stages of the Whitehead torpedo. At the bottom, Giovanni Luppi's Küstenbrander, which was the inspiration for Robert Whitehead's work. At the top, the 1868-1870 model with its characteristic fins. In the middle an 1890's model, cut out to show the interior, but not the secret parts with the hydrostat.
