A U.S. Navy Grumman F-14A Tomcat from Fighter Squadron 11 (VF-11) "Red Rippers" is launched from the aircraft carrier USS Forrestal (CV-59). VF-11 was assigned to Carrier Air Wing 6 (CVW-6) aboard the Forrestal for a deployment to the Mediterranean Sea and the Indian Ocean from 25 April to 7 October 1988.
