Opis:

The Franciscan Church and Friary is a historic building. Listed ID 7507. The oldest church of Vác belonged to the Franciscans. It stood on the place of the old fortress destroyed during the siege of the Turks in 1685. Using the stones of the fortress, people built a new church in Baroque style in mid 18th century. The main ornament of the church is the richly decorated early Rococo two-storeyed wooden altar. The friary belonging to the church used to give home to György Váczi, the nationally renown bookbinder.
