An Ikarus 280 articulated vehicle no 430, being chased down by a Skoda, no 284. This is quite an interesting vehicle … only 6 of the prized Ikarus 280.93 vehicles were put into service in Tallinn in the mid 1990s having been built for the short lived Hoyerswerda system in the GDR. 430 was one of 12 purchased by Hoyerswerda and all were disposed of when that system closed down. 430 was previously no 722 in the the Hoyerswerda fleet. The other six Hoyerswerda Ikarus vehicles were sold to Chelyabinsk in Russia, remaining in service until 2008. Ikarus 412T and 415T are still in service in Tallinn. 99 Skoda 14Tr vehicles were also purchased in the 1980s, 210-308. 284 was new in 1987 and is still in service, though earlier models have been withdrawn already.
