Lincoln Castle, Lincoln Reputedly, the remains of the Eleanor Cross, which originally stood at the foot of Cross O'Cliff Hill. This cross, one of twelve, was erected by Edward I in memory of his queen, Eleanor of Castile, who died at Harby in November 1290.
