Mercury-Redstone Booster Development (MR-BD) launch from Cape Canaveral on March 24, 1961 at 12:30 PM local time. This Mercury-Redstone launch vehicle carried a "boilerplate" model of the Mercury spacecraft. (The truck near the launching stand was parked there for test purposes.)
