Opis:

Meir (Majer Balaban), Jewish historian from Poland (1877 - 1942). Wrote books on the history of Jews in south eastern Poland (Jews of Cracow & Lublin) and western Ukraine (Jews of Lviv & Zhovkva). Was born and lived in Lviv (western Ukraine). Worked at the Institute of Jewish History in Warsaw. Died in the Jewish Ghetto in Warsaw in 1942.
