PLATE NO. 8. PROTECTIVE ASSOCIATION BASKET BALL. Ill Plate No. 8. Strongly resembles the wrestling trick knownas the flying mare. The ball has been held tothe ground, and the player on top, in attemptingto reach it, has climbed on his opponents back.The under man does not help things any bygrasping the arm of the man on top and attempt-ing to heave him over his head, and unless twowrongs make a right, the whole affair resemblesa double foul. Had the under player not tried totoss the upper man, the official should stop theupper mans laying over his opponent in shortorder by imposing a foul for holding.

Theoffender, without doubt, is the man who does thepushing, and the man with the ball cannot beconsidered as carrying it out of bounds.
