Range map to the distribution of the Common Fire Salamander, Salamandra salamandra — the species' range is coloured green. Former subspecies in Corsica, southern Spain, north-western Africa and the Middle East are not included because of their new status as separate species (= Salamandra algira, Salamandra corsica, Salamandra infraimmaculata, Salamandra longirostris).
