PKP Ty23 Class 2-10-0 No.Ty23-145 at Jaworzyna Slaska Museum Depot, 22 November 2017. The Ty23 Class was derived from the Prussian G12 (PKP Class Ty1) Class. 612 of which were built by Borsig, Cokerill, St. Leonard, Franco-Belge, Cegielski, Fablok and Warszawa in 1923-34. On the occupation of Poland in WWII they became DRB Class 58.23. The last was withdrawn in 1980. The Ty23's were derived from the Prussian (KPEV) Class G12 (DRG Class 58.10; PKP Class Ty1) but with only 2 cylinders. Later developments were the 37 Ty37 Class of 1937-40 and the 448 Ty45 Clas of 1946-51. The Class Ty23 had 4'7.5" driving wheels, 48.3 sq.ft. grate area, 25.5"x28" cylinders, 199 psi boiler pressure, and weighed 93.1 tons.
