"The end of leading Germans and members of the Nasjonal Samling (NS, Norwegian fascist party)." A series of photos of former Nazi leaders in German occupied Norway during World War II showing them at the end of the war or the liberation in 1945: 1. Vidkun Quisling, the leader of the Norwegian fascist party Nasjonal Samling and the main political Nazi collaborator, as prisoner in Oslo, Norway. Quisling was put on trial during the legal purge in Norway after World War II. He was found guilty of charges including embezzlement, murder and high treason against the Norwegian state, and was sentenced to death. He was executed by firing squad at Akershus Fortress, Oslo, on 24 October 1945.
