Westland Lysander III ‘R9125 - LX-L’ (17205172475)
Built 1940 and operated for 225sqn based at RAF Tilshead. Modified as a target tug in September 1941 it flew with training units until joining 161 (Special Duties) sqn based at RAF Tempsford, Bedfordshire. It was then used for ferry and communication work. By 1945 it had been allocated to the AHB (Air Historical Branch) for preservation. It was dismantled and stored, making only occasional public appearances. In 1978 it moved to the Battle of Britain Hall where it remains today. RAF Museum, Hendon, London, UK.
